Jinya CMS Version 22.0.0 released 🥳
I am happy to announce, the new release of Jinya CMS version 22.0.0. Lets see what changed in this version user story by user story.
TG-76 Blog feature
The most important feature of this release is the blog feature. With 22.0.0 Jinya features now a simple blog management, currently paging and search is missing, but might be integrated in a future version.
Lets dive into the blog feature. First of all you can create categories with a simple UI where you have the option to provide a name, description and a parent category. Using the parent category you can easily create a deeply nested category tree.
Apart from that a new post editor got integrated into Jinya. his editor follows a different UI concept than the other pages. First you have all posts sorted by the categories, as you will see in the screenshots. If you the select a category and edit it you will enter a editing mode, consisting of a tab control. Here you have two tabs, first the settings. The settings allow you to control the basics like title, slug etc. Apart from that you have a tab segments, which gives you an editor similar to the editor for segment pages.
TG-95 Remove custom OpenApi generation
Solving this user story was kinda sad. Back with version 19.0.0 I created a generator for OpenAPI specifications. This was a lot of work, but it never worked as good as I wanted it to work. Since it is a lot of work to maintain I decided to remove it and write the OpenAPI specification from hand again.
TG-98 Display total visit count in matomo stats
This user story was about the statistics dashboard, apparently I missed to display the total visitor count. Jenny-Jinya approached me and I quickly added the total visit count to the dashboard.
TG-101 Webhook support
This user story is again a new feature for the blog. It includes the option to add a webhook to categories. The idea is to create an additional service that can work with the post results from the webhooks and publish to facebook, twitter, discord and similar services.
TG-102 Add blog stats to database statistics
With the new blog feature a new measurement in the datasbase statistics was needed. This user story adds the count of blog posts and blog categories.
Fixed issues
As with every release, version 22.0.0 features new fixes and general improvements.
Final thought
Compared with version 21.0.0 this release is not that big, but I am still happy with the amount of solved user stories and fixed bugs. If you have questions, want to contribute or just like to chat, drop a mail to developers@jinya.de.
